The Sweeney Collection is a museum style display of contemporary art glass beads curated by Linda Litchfield Sweeney starting in 2007. The purpose of the collection is to advance the awareness of and educate the public about the medium of flameworked glass especially as it relates to beads. This is an international collection that is also focused on capturing biographies on the artists and especially the history of the American glass bead movement. This art form has been practiced in Murano, Italy for centuries but was only introduced to the American craft scene in the 1970s. The exhibit is on display here and at Linda's home in Glorieta, NM and the collection travels whenever the occasion arises. If you'd like to have The Sweeney Collection visit your group or venue, please contact Linda at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
